Happy Feet Formula = One Happy Runner!

Today after stepping out in my fancy church shoes and making my weekly Sunday run I realized that my happy feet was now extremely tired and sore feet. About a week ago I received Happy Feet Formula to review and the first person I decided to put it on was my husband because  he recently had foot surgery so I figured I would get the most honest opinion. Well I was wrong and my husband got a free foot massage because what I discovered after was done was he has no felling in the area where the procedure was performed.

So over the last week I have been using Happy Feet Formula twice a day as recommended to see how I felt after my daily runs and workouts. For the first few days I didn’t realize much difference but what i noticed around day four was my leg cramps were not as bad as they normally are and my skin was very soft all day long. I think this product can be a runners best friend after you put in you daily miles.

Redbox Rental Codes for 2014

If you like renting movies and games from your local Redbox Movie kiosk as much as I do then you will want to bookmark this post since it will be undated as new codes are available.

My family enjoys picking up a movie just about ever Friday and Saturday. My kids already know that on my way home from work every Friday I’m going to stop and pick up the hottest rental of the week so we can have family movie night. The concept of a one day rental for a buck and some change makes fun on a budget perfect for our family and if we grab a pizza from Little Cesar’s we can have a complete night for under 10 bucks.

So how does Redbox work?

You have two options to get a movie; you can reserve on line or you can just rent them from the box. If you are looking to grab a new release I highly suggest you reserving it online so you don’t have to travel all over town just to get that perfect movie.

Its a one day rental!!!! So it needs to be returned by 9:00 pm to avoid any extra day rental charges.

Cost: Movies are $1.20 per night, Blu- Rays $1.50 per night and video games are $2 per night.

Now, keep in mind that each rental code can only be used once per credit card. Plus, some promo codes are regional and do not work everywhere. Plus, since the kiosk also rents Wii, PS3 and Xbox 360 games for $2, those rental codes will be different from the movie rental ones.

Redbox Rental Codes for 2014:

Cleaning Your Washing Machine with Vinegar

Have you cleaned your Washing Machine before?

Washing Machine

Cleaning your washing machine was something that never crossed my mined until I decided re-dye my black pants black and didn’t want to have everything black for weeks. So after researching I found that cleaning your washer is something you actually need to do on a regular basis. The truth of the matter is your wonderful washing machine can be a perfect hiding spot for mildew and mold. Yuck!

So…. I have found the way that you can clean a top loading or front loading machine with white vinegar! Yes….another vinegar DIY cleaning tip.

What you need:

1. White Vinegar

2. Cleaning clothes or a dark color towel.

Top Loading Machine:

These directions works on machines that can be opened and stopped during the process the best.

Cleaning your top loading washing machine is simple, all you need is white vinegar and a towel. I usually use a dark color towel that is in the dirty clothes.

  1. Start by setting your washer to its hottest temperature, highest capacity and longest cycle.
  2. Add four cups of white vinegar to the hot water, close the lid and allow it to wash for several minutes.
  3. Open the lid (so the machine stops) and allow it to sit for an hour so that the vinegar can do its job to get rid of the bacteria hiding in all those nooks and crannies and the hoses of your machine.

Allow this solution to sit for an hour, it’s time to tackle the exterior of the washer as well as the fabric softener and bleach reservoirs. Using a towel, dip it in the vinegar solution and wring it out. Wipe down the exterior, lid and control panel. Close the lid and allow the washer to complete its cycle. And your done!

Front Loading Machine:

Front load washing machines are are something fairly new in most households and since we all grew up on the old school top loader many have no ideal about cleaning the new machines.

HE washers use less water and less energy which in turn results in more mildew, mold, detergent residue and buildup in your washer. Some washers have a separate cleaning cycle as an option, so use that if yours fall in to that category. If not, all you need is some white vinegar and a little time.

The best way to clean your top loading washer is simple:

  1. Select the hot water setting, and select the extra rinse setting if available…. if not repeat a 2nd rinse cycle once finished.
  2. Add ¾ cup of white vinegar to the bleach dispenser or fill to its max level.
  3. Allow the cycle to run until it has completed.
  4. Don’t forget!!!! To ensure that no vinegar remains in your washer, select that second rinse cycle.

Once finished washing the interior of the washer, clean the bleach and fabric softener dispensers. Dry them thoroughly before reinserting them.

Next… check out the rubber seal on the door this is the perfect place for mildew and mold to hide. Carefully pull back the gasket and inspect to see if you have mold or mildew growing. Carefully wipe down the area with white vinegar and a clean towel and allow to dry.

Finally….After cleaning these three areas, wipe down the exterior and control panel. Maintaining a clean washer and eliminating the stinky laundry issue is easy – be sure to leave the door open to prevent moisture build-up in between loads and clean it inside and out every month.

Add cleaning your washing machine to your cleaning schedule and your washer and laundry will thank you for it!

2014 Tax Return

Where are you filing your 2014 Income Tax Return?

2014 Tax  Return deadline is quickly approaching and I would not want for you to forget April 15 and get hit with any penalties. For may years I went to local companies that called themselves tax specialist to get my Taxes done and what I found out was these were not Tax Specialist at all they was computer savvy people that could follow directions. I use to make an appointment to watch a lady enter all my information into a computer program and  it do all the work for her. Then I pay her $250 or more to press enter and file my taxes.

After a few years of this I decided I wanted to keep all those fees in my pocket and in order to do this I needed to cut out the middle man and get my taxes done. Once I decided to do them myself I realized I had two options…1. Find all the forms and and do them manually or 2. Find myself a nifty computer program also and do it myself.

In my search I found Turbo Tax and its free! with no middle man, no appointments and no crazy fees. So all my money stays my money! Make sure to make your 2014 tax return stress free by signing in to Turbo Tax and taking a look at how quick and easy it is to get you return.

What do you plan on purchasing with your 2014 Tax Return?
